Mangawhai Village · Early learning

A preschool in the heart of the village.

A child digging a hole in the sandpit with a yellow spade, beside a tree and the timber boundary fence in the centre's outdoor area.

Where your children grow and learn with confidence.

We're here because your family deserves exceptional childcare.

Our values

“Care for our children, our community, and the world around us.”

How that works day to day
The centre from above: the building wrapping around a courtyard, with shade sails, a sandpit, the fort and planted garden beds.
  • Pride

Proud of our high-quality care, facilities, and positive outcomes for children.

  • Collaboration

We form respectful, honest partnerships with each other, our children, and their families.

  • Play

We create environments where everyone has the freedom to play and explore together.

  • Growth

We strive for excellence, supporting ongoing learning and teaching improvement.

Our centre

Three stages, one building.

A teacher sitting on the floor of the under twos room with two babies playing with wooden cars beside her.

Under Twos

A separate, calmer end of the building, with its own sleep room and its own gated outdoor space.

The covered art area with its doors folded open to the courtyard, a teacher and three children reaching up to the paint shelves.

Over Twos

Doors open to the courtyard most of the day, so children choose where they want to be.

A child coming down the slide with both arms flung out, laughing.

Preschool

A little more structure, and a visit to Mangawhai Beach School before they start.

See all three, and the garden they share

A week here, roughly

Children learn best from whatever they're already curious about. Start there, and they keep learning for life.

Two children watering the garden beds with watering cans.
A teacher in a Mangawhai Village Preschool polo shirt carrying a child, both waving at the camera.
A child climbing up through the rope net underneath the timber fort.
The centre's covered deck and courtyard, with timber seating, an easel and a grassed circle.

Have a look inside

Two minutes is quicker than reading about it.

A short walk through the centre: the rooms, the courtyard, the fort and the garden, filmed on an ordinary week.

Enrolling now

Come and have a look around.

Come and see us while the children are here and the day is in full swing. Half an hour is all it takes, and you are very welcome to bring your child along.
