About us

Built for children, from the ground up.

The centre's covered deck and courtyard, with timber seating, an easel and a grassed circle.

Our story

Run by a team you’ll actually get to know.

Polina Korneva runs the centre day to day, and she is here in the building every day. She will most likely be the one who shows you around, and the one you talk to when something comes up.

It means the person who can say yes is standing in front of you rather than in an office somewhere else. We are licensed for fifty children a day, and there are fifteen of us on the team.

Our philosophy

“Nurturing and fostering children's self-confidence is the key foundation to developing competent individuals.”

A confident child will try the thing they are unsure about, ask for help when they need it, and join a game they were not invited to. So we start with what your child is already interested in, working within Te Whāriki, and we keep a learning story for every child.

  • Pride

Proud of our high-quality care, facilities, and positive outcomes for children.

  • Collaboration

We form respectful, honest partnerships with each other, our children, and their families.

  • Play

We create environments where everyone has the freedom to play and explore together.

  • Growth

We strive for excellence, supporting ongoing learning and teaching improvement.

Why choose us.

Four things families tell us, in the words we use ourselves.

  • The Ideal Environment

Our exciting, purpose-built preschool, combined with our friendly, passionate team, creates a wonderful and safe environment for you to trust with your child’s care.

  • We’re a Big Family

Feeling like you really belong somewhere is so special, and we’d love to extend a warm welcome to your family, and ensure you feel truly at home with us.

  • Community Focused

You might meet us at the beach for takeaways, bring a plate to our cultural dinner, enjoy a leisurely mums’ lunch (kid-free!), or join us as we celebrate special occasions.

  • Quality Education

We plan engaging learning opportunities based on children’s interests to extend their knowledge, ensuring they grow continuously in their educational journey.

Our team

Fifteen of us, and you will know all their names by week two.

Most hold a recognised early childhood qualification and a current first aid certificate. Your child will have a primary teacher who knows their routine from day one.
